Women’s clothing in the 1920s reflected the onset of dizzying and unprecedented social change. From Paris and London to New York and Hollywood, the decade following the Great War offered the modern woman a completely new style of dressing.

Join Head of Exhibitions Dennis Nothdruft for an illustrated talk, charting some of the key fashion highlights from this glamorous decade. As you Journey through the 1920s, Dennis will examine how new silhouettes influenced by speed and modernity were mixed with romantic ideals and escapism, resulting in new ideas of beauty. You will learn how a decade of societal change was reflected in clothing defined by movement and activity and discover what made the 1920s one of the most exciting decades in fashion history.

Plus, you’ll enjoy a look back at the Fashion and Textile Museums highly successful 2016 exhibition, 1920s Jazz Age Fashion and Photographs and gain a unique insight into the exhibition’s conception and curation.
